Flowers

x

  • Vacations: As of today, I basically don’t have any more classes this year. I have to take tests and turn in some papers, but I can stay home the rest of the time. That means sleeping in late, resting, going out…
  • Travel plans: I’m still saving for Paris, but I’m planning on a nice New Year’s getaway with some friends. We’re probably going to my grandparent’s beach house, and it will be fun, fun, fun!
  • Health: My grandfather was released from the hospital yesterday, and I visited him last night. He’s still weak, and he can’t walk well yet, but he’s getting better, and that makes really glad. My sister cried so much when she saw him – and she’s not usually a crier! -, it was the sweetest thing ever.
  • Modeling: I’m not a model. I’m usually quite camera-shy, actually. But this week I was invited to model for a photoshoot to promote a party. The photos are being taken next week, and I’ll post some of the better ones for you to see. I’m really, really excited!
  • Partying: It had been a while since I last got out to party, but last weekend I did, and it was awesome. Me and some friends went to a great club (it was actually a photography studio that doubled as a club), and the songs were great, the company was great, and we danced until the morning and grabbed breakfast at a gas station convenience store. Now I’m really excited and definitely want to go out dancing with them again.
  • My video project: I think I might have mentioned this before, but me and a friend are working on a mini-documentary on bass players for underground local bands. It’s a college project, and tonight we’re editing because it has to be presented tomorrow in our Communication & Art class. The footage is great, and if it turns out well I’m planning on working on an extended version during summer break.
  • Friends: I go to two different universities, as I’m majoring in two different things. In one of them I have friends, but I didn’t really talk to anyone at the other one. Luckily, this is starting to change, and I met some nice and interesting people lately, and yesterday I had a killer time with them. We talked about movies and music and college and it felt great.
  • Lomography: I’ve signed up for a Lomography workshop in december, and I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully it will be fun.

What about you, dolls? What are you excited about?

Wish me luck, because I have an economy test today and I need to get a good grade!

Family

x

This morning I woke up with bad news. My mother’s in Paris, but she’s coming home early because my grandfather was rushed into the hospital again. Therefore, today’ s TilT is hard to write, but I think that’s when it’s needed the most. Still, it’s going to be just one thing:

  • Family & Friends: Things have been complicated, but I’m grateful for my supportive family and my great friends who are really helping me right now.

Beauty

x

  • TiLT: Doing Things I love Thursday has made me quite happier. I feel more grateful for nice things, and complain less.
  • Indie Rock Festival: There’s a rock festival going on tomorrow, and I won free tickets at an internet giveaway! So tomorrow I’m going to see Gogol Bordello, Super Furry Animals, El Mató a un Policia Motorizado and Holger live. Rock concerts are one of my favourite things in the whole world, since I have an undying love for music and rockstars, and I’m really excited about this one.
  • My little cousin: My uncle and aunt had their first baby a couple of months ago. They’re now living in the US, but they keep e-mailing me photos and videos of their son, and he’s definitely cute.
  • Books: Finally finishing The Beautiful & Damned, starting Brave new world, buying books online, Bookcrossing ( I know I totally owe you an article on that. I promise it’s on its way), notebooks, everything about books. I know, I’ve been kind of obsessed lately.
  • Coco Chanel: On monday I went to the movies and watched Coco avant Chanel. Man, she’s amazing, and I stood in awe after the movie. Not only was she an incredible designer, she also had an awesomely strong personality. To sum it up, she’s great, and the movie’s great, and you should watch it.
  • Vacation plans: In less than a month I’ll be free from college until next year. I have various interesting plans for my vacations, including working on a book publishing company, an incredible new year’s eve party, and making an online magazine with a friend. I love making plans, they keep me excited and motivated.
  • Gossip Girl: I’ve mentioned this before, but I adore this show. It’s silly, and bad, but I love it. And I was really excited about the threesome that went on this week, because I have this infatuation with love triangles and such. So, yeah, Gossip Girl is on my list this week. Again.
  • Wi-Fi: Wireless internet means I’m writing this from my philosophy’s class. Oh, the miracles of technology.

Come on, I’m waiting for your list!

Tea Party

x

  • The photo above: It was taken by my lovely friend Camila at the tea party I threw at my grandparents’ house about two weeks ago. There’s an article on it on the making (I just can’t get myself to finish it, I’m a complete procrastinator), and it was an awesome party. I never looked prettier than in that photo.
  • My best friend: I’ve been going over to her place more often than usual, and I love hanging out with her. It’s always great and fun and we can talk for hours about life, boys, music and True Blood. Also, I’m really hoping she sees this and comments saying she loves me too. Hahaha.
  • Work ethic crisis: Not that I like crisis. But I’m an intern at a newspaper, and I just had some issues involving things I’ve been writing about. And although that’s complicated, it makes me feel all responsible and grown-up.
  • Beautiful sunny days: The weather was terrible last week, but for the past couple of days the sky has been blue and sunny. It’s been awfully hot, though, and I feel like I’m melting. Ugh.
  • My little sister: She’s really cute. She’s 12 now, and I helped her out on her math homework this afternoon. I actually suck at math, but it was fun catching up with her while she studied.
  • A special guy: He doesn’t like being mentioned on the internet, so I won’t say much. Let me just tell you that I love him, and being around him lately has made me really happy.
  • Pilates: I missed almost a month of pilates on October, but I came back today, and it’s great. I always feel renewed when I leave a class.
  • November: My summer vacations are in less than a month. I love how november means that everything is slowly coming to a closure, even if I freak out a little bit about it.

What about you, guys? What do you love right now? What’s bringing a smile to your pretty faces?

  • My internship: I’m an intern at a major newspaper here. It’s a non-paid internship, and I work at the teenager section of the paper, along with a group of five other interns, and it’s so much fun. I’ve made good friends, I get to interview some interesting people and give my opinion on a wide range of subjects. Plus, I have to write an article a week, which is great writing practice. Next magazine meeting is next week, and I have to come up with good stories. Do you guys have any suggestions? Something you’d like to be featured on the newspaper?
  • Funny e-mail subjects: Me and my friend keep e-mailing each other, and the subject is really funny and makes me laugh everytime. It makes work-related e-mail a lot better to read.
  • New band: Yay, so I’m in a band now. I can play the bass (not really well), and my new friends from college asked me to join their band. Our first practice is probably going to be next week, and we’ll be playing Garbage, Ida Maria, Howling Bells, Beatles, Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand.
  • Books: Since last week, I’ve read the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse novels (the True Blood books – I can’t wait to read the third), and I’ve started reading The Beautiful & Damned, by F. S. Fitzgerald. I’ve read some Fitzgerald earlier this yer (The Great Gatsby and some short stories), and I think he’s an incredible writer. His books always make me want to listen to jazz and have a glass of wine. I don’t know what I’m going to read after I finish this one. Any ideas?
  • Frank Sinatra: I’ve been listening to him a lot lately. It goes well with my Fitzgerald book and my tea party mood. Check this out.

What about you? What’s making you smile today?

TILT is done weekly over at Gala Darling’s iCing, so I decided I would make my own. Total credit to her for the idea, though.

  • Tea Party anticipation: I’m throwing one on sunday, and it’s gonna be fabulous.
  • Movies: I’ve seen a lot of movies lately. The list includes Donnie Darko, Garden Party, Inglorious Basterds, Detroit Rock Ckity and Thelma & Louise.
  • New friends: Simple as that.
  • Franz Ferdinand: I bought my tickets yesterday! I’m so excited about the concert – even though it’s only next year.
  • Halloween anticipation: Making exciting plans with friends, such as movie marathons and some killer party, and also working on a special Halloween surprise for my readers. It’s not a major holiday here in Brasil, but I love it, and it’s a great excuse to play dress up and eat candy.
  • Blair Waldorf + Chuck Bass: Okay, that’s silly. But have you watched Gossip Girl on monday? Aren’t they the cutest couple ever? Plus, Ed “I’m Chuck Bass” Westwick is so damn hot.
  • Busy weekend: This is not actually something I love. The weekend is gonna be way too busy, and I won’t be able to do everything I planned. But, still, it’s gonna be full of fun things, such as birthday parties for great friends. Yay.
  • Lomography: A Lomography store is opening up in Rio next week. My money’s going down the drain, but it’s gonna be way better than having to buy everything abroad and/or online. Plus, the launch party’s gonna be awesome.
  • Postcrossing: I received my first Postcrossing postcards this week. One from Finland and one from Japan. So cute. Also, if you don’t know Postcrossing, click here. Or wait a bit, I’m writing an article on it.

What about you, what do you love today?
